Czech PM praises EU agreement on Russian oil embargo
Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala has described Monday’s agreement on a partial oil embargo against Russia by EU leaders as an “excellent result” for the European Union and the Czech Republic, news site denikn.cz reported on Tuesday. He said that it was possible to tackle key issues related to the measure as all sides were able to reach a united position.
The Czech Republic negotiated an 18 month exception from the ban on purchasing products made out of Russian oil. Mr Fiala said that while oil deliveries coming from the sea will immediately be discontinued, those coming in via pipelines will be gradually discontinued.
