Czech mobile operators offer free data to customers in Middle East
Czech operators O2 Czech Republic and T-Mobile Czech Republic are providing free mobile data to Czech customers in selected Middle Eastern countries amid the current security crisis. O2 is offering five gigabytes, while T-Mobile is granting ten gigabytes, both valid for 30 days. Customers will be notified by SMS. The move follows Israeli and U.S. strikes on Iran and subsequent retaliation. Thousands of Czechs are currently in the region, many registered in the Drozd travel system. The data packages are intended to help people stay in touch with relatives, although telecommunications services are reportedly disrupted in Iran.
