Czech military plane heads to Egypt for another evacuation flight
A Czech military Airbus departed Prague on Tuesday morning for Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt as part of ongoing efforts to evacuate Czech citizens stranded in the Middle East. After returning to Prague with passengers, the aircraft is expected to continue to Muscat in Oman for another evacuation mission, according to the Foreign Ministry. Earlier on Tuesday the same aircraft brought 96 people back to Prague from Oman, while a CASA C-295 delivered 39 passengers from Egypt. Another military flight had already transported about 40 people from Jordan the previous evening. Czechs are also returning on commercial flights operated by Smartwings, mainly tourists who travelled to the region with package tours.
