Czech initiative raises 60 million crowns for howitzers, launches new drone fundraiser for Ukraine

The Czech initiative Gift for Putin has raised 60 million crowns in public donations to buy six howitzers for Ukraine’s army, which continues its fight against Russian aggression. The weapons will be delivered in the coming months and named after Czechoslovak WWII heroes, including Josef Mašín and Jan Kubiš. Organizers also launched a new campaign to fund 500 combat drones for 12.5 million crowns. Since 2022, the initiative has collected over one billion crowns for military equipment for Ukraine, including helicopters and rocket launchers. Public support continues to grow, according to the organizers.
