Czech hockey team to open next world championship against Denmark

The Czech national hockey team will start the 2026 World Championship in Switzerland with a match against Denmark on May 15 in Fribourg. Coach Radim Rulík’s players will then face Slovenia, Sweden, Italy, Slovakia, Norway, and close the group stage with Canada. The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) published the tournament schedule on its website. The championship, hosted by Switzerland for the first time in 17 years, runs from May 15 to 31. Group A games will be played in Zurich, including a repeat of last year’s final between Switzerland and the United States. Semifinals and medal matches will also take place in Zurich.
