Czech goalies leave mark despite losses in NHL round

Czech goaltenders played visible roles in the latest NHL games, even though neither could turn strong performances into wins. Daniel Vladař made 16 saves as Philadelphia Flyers fell 1–4 in Seattle, keeping his team competitive until late goals into an empty net. David Rittich stopped 31 shots for the New York Islanders, posting a solid 91.2 save percentage, but defensive lapses in the final minutes led to a 2–4 loss in Columbus. Meanwhile, Czech goalie Jakub Dobeš watched from the stands as Montreal lost in Tampa Bay.
