Czech footballers beat Gibraltar 4:0 in World Cup qualifier
The Czech national football team cruised to a 4:0 victory over Gibraltar in their second World Cup qualifier, following an earlier win against the Faroe Islands. Goals from Václav Černý, Patrik Schick, Pavel Šulc, and Jan Kliment sealed the win in Faro, Portugal, where Gibraltar played as hosts. Only 583 fans attended the match.
Coach Ivan Hašek praised his players’ responsible performance, although he admitted they could have scored more. With two wins, the Czech team is well-positioned in their qualifying group and remains unbeaten in seven consecutive matches. Gibraltar, meanwhile, is still without a point in major qualifiers.
