Czech FM welcomes EU's new sanctions package against Russia

Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský expressed satisfaction with the EU's 15th sanctions package against Russia, emphasizing its importance in responding to Moscow's aggression against Ukraine. Negotiations among EU member states are challenging, and the Czech Republic actively contributes by proposing names and entities for sanctions, Lipavský stated in Brussels. Ahead of the meeting, he hosted a dinner with foreign ministers from Poland, the Netherlands, Estonia, Lithuania, and Romania to strengthen collaboration on countering Russia. The decision marked the debut of new EU foreign affairs chief Kaja Kallas, whose leadership Lipavský praised as authoritative and promising.
