Czech FM Lipavský: Russia is using talks to buy time
According to outgoing Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský, Russia is using current diplomatic talks only to buy time, the Czech News Agency reported. Before Wednesday’s NATO meeting, he said that if Moscow truly wanted peace, it would stop its military operations. Lipavský added that Tuesday’s U.S.–Russia talks brought no progress and stressed that Europe provides major political, economic, and military support to Ukraine - something the United States must factor in.
NATO foreign ministers will discuss continued support for Ukraine and increased defence spending. Norway, Germany, and Canada announced new contributions to the PURL program, which finances U.S. military equipment for Ukraine. Czechia has not joined the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List yet.
