Czech FM Lipavský confirms support for EU-Israel association agreement

Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský assured his Israeli counterpart Gideon Saar of Czechia’s support for the EU-Israel association agreement during a phone call today. His statement comes as the European Union debates whether Israel’s actions in Gaza violate human rights provisions in the agreement. While countries like Ireland and Spain suggest terminating the deal, Czechia remains among those advocating its preservation. Lipavský stressed that maintaining EU influence in the region is crucial and expressed hope for an early ceasefire and the full restoration of humanitarian aid to Gaza. EU foreign ministers are expected to discuss the issue on Tuesday.
