Czech company bankruptcies reach highest nine-month total since 2016
Czech courts declared 618 companies bankrupt in the first nine months of this year, seven percent more than a year earlier and the highest total for that period since 2016, according to credit bureau CRIF. Courts also received 986 corporate bankruptcy petitions, an increase of 19 percent. The number of bankruptcies rose for the third consecutive year, although growth slowed compared with last year. Regional differences were substantial: bankruptcies increased by more than 40 percent in the Moravian-Silesian, Olomouc and Hradec Králové regions, while falling by almost 40 percent in Vysočina, CRIF analyst Věra Kameníčková said.
