Czech banks' profits rise by 10% to CZK 91 billion over three quarters
Czech banks and savings banks saw their net profit grow by 10% year-on-year, reaching almost CZK 91 billion in the first three quarters of this year, according to data from the Czech National Bank. The total assets of banks rose by CZK 710 billion to nearly CZK 11 trillion by the end of September. Profit from financial and operational activities increased by more than CZK 5 billion to over CZK 185 billion. Interest income fell by more than CZK 6 billion to well over CZK 407 billion, while fee and commission income rose by nearly CZK 6 billion to CZK 47 billion.
