Czech Army planes start monitoring Baltic airspace as part of NATO mission

Czech Army planes took over the surveillance of the Baltic airspace on Thursday as part of a NATO mission, the army announced on Twitter. Five Jas-39 Gripen fighter jets and 95 military personnel will be monitoring the Baltic airspace as part of a NATO mission until July.

This is the fourth mission of Czech pilots in the Baltics and the seventh time in total that the Czech Air Force has been deployed to protect NATO member states. The Czechs will be based in Lithuania and collaborate with Spanish and French air forces.
