Czech animated short Hurricane selected for prestigious Sundance Film Festival

The animated short film Hurricane, directed by Jan Saska, will compete at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival in Utah, USA, from January 23 to February 2, 2025. Selected from over 11,000 entries, Hurricane presents a humorous romantic dilemma between love and beer, set in Prague’s Žižkov district. The 2D-animated film combines noir, American action influences, and Japanese animation styles. Following its world premiere in Annecy, where it won the Audience Award, Hurricane has been screened at over 50 festivals globally. Producer Kamila Dohnalová (Maurfilm) expressed pride in showcasing Czech animation internationally once again.
