Czech ambulances to get unified design and equipment by 2027

Ambulances across the Czech Republic will soon sport a standardised look, following new EU regulations. By 2027, all newly registered vehicles must feature a bright yellow-green checkerboard pattern, red and blue lights, and uniform markings, including county logos and red reflective stripes at the rear. Existing ambulances can continue operating without modification until then. The updated rules, approved by the European Commission, also harmonise equipment, ensuring consistent emergency care nationwide. According to health officials, the goal is to make ambulances easily recognisable across Europe, improving visibility and efficiency in cross-border operations.
