Covid-19: reproduction number increases to 1.06
Eighty-one new cases of Covid-19 were registered in the Czech Republic on Sunday, about a quarter less than on the same day a week ago, according to Ministry of Health data.
The reproduction number – the average number of people infected by one person with the virus – has slightly increased to 1.06, which signifies an accelerated spread of the virus.
The seven-day incidence ratio has dropped to an average 12 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Prague has seen the highest incidence over the past week, with an average of 28 cases.
The number of people hospitalized with Covid-19 dropped to 48 on Sunday, which is the lowest figure in the month of August.
