Brno planning to ban e-scooters in city centre

Brno councilors have approved a request for a ban on the entry of electric scooters and unicycles into the pedestrian zone in the city centre. The reason is repeated complaints from pedestrians who fear for their safety. The request will now be discussed by the Brno City Council's transport department. If approved it should come into force at the beginning of next year. Ostrava banned electric scooters in the city centre two years ago and the measure has won praise from both officers and pedestrians. A similar ban is being considered by the authorities of Prague 1.
