Brno councillors fight at public event

Two councillors in Brno came to blows at a social event in the city, the news site Novinky.cz reported on Thursday. The spat between deputy mayor Robert Kerndl of the Civic Democrats and councillor Filip Chvátal of the Christian Democrats occurred at a celebration at the Špilberk fortress, the news site said. Mr. Chvátal was left with a splint on one finger after the incident.

The men's parties are in coalition at Brno City Hall but the alliance is not in danger, Novinky.cz said.
