Barbara Day - director of the Prague Society
In December 2001 Barbara Day was awarded the M.B.E for her personal contribution to promoting independent Czechoslovak culture. Arriving in Czechoslovakia in the mid 1960s as a theatre graduate on a cultural exchange programme, she witnessed at first hand the 1968 Soviet-led invasion, leaving the country two days afterwards on a special train to evacuate foreigners. Barbara Day is the author of "The Velvet Philosophers" - the story of Czechoslovakia's underground universities, and is now Executive Director of the Prague Society for International Co-operation. Join her in conversation with Rob Cameron for this week's One on One.
