Babiš: Solution to war in Ukraine is in diplomacy, not sending more weapons

The real solution to the war in Ukraine is not in sending more weapons, but in diplomacy, said Andrej Babiš, the chairman of the opposition ANO movement, in the Chamber of Deputies on Tuesday. According to him, Russia is and will remain the aggressor who unleashed the conflict. However, it is necessary to find ways to stop the war, he said.

"Of course, it is necessary to respond to current threats, but a stable peace can only be achieved through diplomacy, a willingness to listen and seek compromise,” said Mr. Babiš. Citing sources from the American administration, the American media wrote last night that the President of the United States Donald Trump has ordered the suspension of American military aid to Ukraine, following a tense meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Oval Office of the White House on Friday.

The European Commission responded by presenting a plan that should make it possible to obtain up to 800 billion euros (20 trillion crowns) to strengthen European defence capabilities and provide immediate aid to the country attacked by Russia.
