Babiš: EU must be ready to respond to shifts in US rhetoric

The European Union agrees it must be prepared to react if the United States changes its rhetoric or introduces measures against the bloc, Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, the ANO party leader, said after an extraordinary EU summit in Brussels. Leaders discussed the state of transatlantic relations, with Babiš stressing that cooperation with the United States remains crucial. Tensions rose after US President Donald Trump revived talk of acquiring Greenland and announced tariffs affecting Denmark and other EU states, before later stepping back following talks with NATO chief Mark Rutte. Babiš called the shift positive, noting Denmark seeks a direct role in any talks.
