Babiš and Tusk welcome renewed Visegrad Four cooperation
Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš and his Polish counterpart Donald Tusk have welcomed the resumption of cooperation within the Visegrad Four, which had previously been hampered by disputes between member states. They made the remarks at a joint press conference in Warsaw.
Both leaders praised the excellent relations between Poland and Czechia and said they shared similar positions on a number of EU issues, including the bloc’s budget and changes to emissions trading rules.
Tusk said the two countries wanted to cooperate in the defence industry and cybersecurity. He added that Warsaw and Prague had similar views on the war in Ukraine, although minor differences sometimes remained.
The two prime ministers also agreed to hold joint intergovernmental consultations.
