Avalanche alert in Jeseníky Mountains
The Jeseníky Mountain rescue service has called a second-degree avalanche alert, following heavy snowfall in the last two days. The service said strong winds and the blanket of fresh snow of up to 70 centimetres in places presented a serious danger. Although most ski resorts are not in operation due to the coronavirus restrictions, Czechs have taken the slopes by storm, skiing, bobbing and cross-country skiing despite the fact that ski lifts are not working.
