Association says beers in Prague could cost over CZK 70 next year

The average price of a half-litre of 12-degree beer in restaurants and pubs in Prague in July was CZK 64, compared to CZK 59 a year earlier, representing a rise of 9 percent, the national Association of Small and Medium Enterprises said, referring to data from a cash register systems operator. A planned change in the VAT bracket of beer could mean it will cost on average more than CZK 70 a half-litre next year, the association said. Across the whole of Czechia the average price in July was CZK 54, compared to CZK 50 12 months earlier.
