Army withdraws vests worth CZK 250 million

The head of the Army Equipment Service, General Robert Bielený, has ordered soldiers to immediately withdraw the VOBU ballistic protective vests from 2020. During regular durability tests, it was revealed that they do not provide the protection they should. A fired bullet passed through the entire tested vest, which is only halfway through its lifespan. The army paid CZK 255 million for the vests.
