Archbishop of Prague: Pope Francis’s pontificate was one of solidarity and empathy

Prague Archbishop Jan Graubner highlighted the late Pope’s legacy in drawing the attention of Europeans, who Graubner said tend to be somewhat self-centred, to common people living in poor countries of the world. “He came from a different background and drew attention to the plight of people living in a different environment. It was a very strong message,” Graubner told Czech Television.

"Pope Francis was a shepherd with an open heart, a man of dialogue, peace and clemency. His pontificate was characterized by an emphasis on solidarity and closeness to people," the Archbishop of Prague said.
