ANO, SPD and Motorists to wrap up coalition talks with focus on culture and diplomacy
ANO, the Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD), and the Motorists’ parties are concluding talks on a possible coalition government, focusing today on culture and diplomacy. ANO leader Andrej Babiš will study the final program over the weekend before presenting it to President Petr Pavel on Monday. The Motorists are expected to nominate ministers of culture and foreign affairs, though their candidates have faced criticism. The parties agree on major changes to public broadcasting funding and a more pragmatic foreign policy. While ANO and the Motorists back Czechia’s EU and NATO membership, SPD remains more sceptical.
