Andrej Babiš backtracks on earlier promise to leave politics

ANO party leader Andrej Babiš has backtracked on his earlier claim that he will not run for reelection as party chief or contest a seat in Parliament in the next general elections in 2025. In an interview for the CTK news agency Mr. Babiš said he was no longer ruling out the possibility that he would remain in politics, since a lot of things had happened to make him reconsider the move. There has been speculation regarding his potential candidacy for president in the 2023 election, but Mr. Babiš has refused to disclose his decision until October.
