Andrej Babiš again becomes sole owner of Agrofert company

ANO party leader and likely next Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš is once again the sole owner of the Agrofert group, according to a notarial record published in the Collection of Documents and confirmed by company spokesman Pavel Hermanský to Ekonomický deník news site. The second trust fund into which Babiš placed Agrofert in 2017 has transferred about 10 percent of the company’s shares back to him. The first fund was dissolved at the end of last year, returning the remaining 90 percent. As a potential prime minister, Babiš would face a conflict of interest by owning a multibillion company Agrofert but has pledged to resolve the issue in line with Czech and EU law.
