African Centre opens in Prague
There has long been a small African community in the Czech Republic, going back to the communist days when many students came to the country on scholarships. Today, as well as students and diplomats, there is also a growing number of refugees, migrant workers and businesspeople, coming from Africa to the heart of Europe. Many have also settled down in the Czech Republic, often with a Czech partner. So it should come as no surprise, that since last Friday, Prague now has its very own African cultural and community centre, housed in the YMCA building in the city centre.
