Adam Ondra to say farewell to competition bouldering at Prague World Cup

The Prague World Cup, starting Friday, will mark Czech climbing star Adam Ondra’s farewell to competition bouldering. The event at Letná Plain features ten Czech athletes alongside strong international contenders.

Ondra reached the finals in Prague’s last two World Cups, finishing second and sixth. This year, he says reaching the semi-finals on Saturday would be a success.

Currently, the top Czech female climber is Michaela Smetanová, who focuses mainly on lead climbing. She has modest expectations but is excited about the event’s unique atmosphere. Last year, she narrowly missed the semi-finals.
