Workman killed after hitting unexploded WWII bomb in Ostrava
One person was killed and another injured in an explosion in the Mariánské Hory district in Ostrava when workmen digging in the area disturbed an unexploded World War II bomb. Several dozen local residents had to be evacuated as explosive experts search the site for other potential weapons. Similar findings are common in the Opava and Ostrava regions, which witnessed one of the biggest battles of the Second World War on the territory of the former Czechoslovakia.
