Work to begin on building stadium for 2004 ice hockey World Championships
The Czech Republic's plans to hold the 2004 World Championships look a bit more certain with the news that the government has chosen a company to clear up the site where a new hockey stadium is to be built - the building of the new stadium is a prerequisite for holding the games. The Czechs had originally planned to stage the 2003 World Championships but had to swap for 2004 with Finland when it became clear that a new stadium could not be completed on time.
