Wolf territories in Czechia increased to 24

Some 24 wolf territories were identified across Czechia in 2021, two more than in the previous year, according to a field monitoring carried out by the Friends of the Earth organisation.

Two new territories were discovered in Orlické Mountains in the northeast of the country and in Český les in West Bohemia. Eighteen areas were occupied by wolf packs, four were used by wolf pairs and in two cases by single individuals.

At least in half of the territories, wolf cubs were born during the period from May 2020 to the end of April 2021.
