Windstorms leave over 13,500 Czech homes without power

More than 13,500 Czech households, mainly in Moravia and eastern Bohemia, were without electricity on Sunday morning due to windstorms that began the previous afternoon and last until the wee hours.

The power company ČEZ registered almost 8,000 delivery points without electricity at around 8 a.m. on Sunday and the electricity provider E.ON reported 5,700 households without power due to lines damaged mainly by fallen or uprooted trees.
