Westinghouse deliveries of nuclear fuel for Temelin arrive in Czechia
The first deliveries of nuclear fuel from Westinghouse have arrived in the Czech Republic. Thirty fuel assemblies were delivered by the American company to the Temelín power plant and will be introduced into the reactor next year, the power utility ČEZ, which operates the plant announced. Westinghouse is expected to deliver dozens more fuel assemblies to the Dukovany plant later this year. France's Framatome will also start supplying nuclear fuel to the Czech Republic in 2026. Westinghouse and Framatome have replaced Russian fuel supplier TVEL. Daniel Beneš, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ČEZ, hailed it as a step that significantly increases the energy security of the Czech Republic.
