Wednesday Covid figures similar to previous week
Some 8,452 new cases of Covid-19 were registered in the Czech Republic on Wednesday, an increase of less than 250 on the figure for the same day last week. After two days the number hospitalised returned to below 6,000, while the number of critical patients also fell back below 1,000.
The national risk index was still in the bracket for level four on Wednesday. However, restrictions for the highest level – five – remain in place in view of the high rate of hospitalised Covid patients.
The reproduction number has been climbing for almost two weeks and stands at 0.96.
