Warm weather means higher sales for country's breweries
Czech breweries are thanking warm weather this year for an increase in beer consumption. The breweries sold almost nine million hectolitres in the first half of the year, up over four percent on the same period last year. The Czechs are the world's biggest beer drinkers, with average consumption of 160 litres a year, ahead of neighbours the Germans, who down 127 litres a year. As previously reported on Radio Prague, Czech brewers have been concentrating on a new market in recent months - women.
