Warm March weather brings record-breaking temperatures across Czechia

Records fell across Czechia on Thursday as temperatures topped 21 degrees Celsius in many areas. Karviná recorded the highest at 21.9 degrees, and 89% of long-term weather stations broke the March 6 record, according to the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute. This follows another record-breaking day on Wednesday and marks the first time this year temperatures have exceeded 20 degrees.

Temperature differences have been significant, with some areas seeing swings of 20 degrees or more between morning lows and daytime highs. The warm, sunny weather will continue until Monday, but temperatures are expected to drop on Tuesday, bringing rain and even snow to some regions.
