Výborný: We can't close the border because of foot-and-mouth disease

Agriculture Minister Marek Výborný told Czech Radio that the government is continuing to strengthen measures to prevent the introduction of foot-and-mouth disease into Czechia. Since Thursday, soldiers have been assisting with emergency border checks.

The ministries of agriculture and transport are also working on increasing the number of disinfected trucks at selected border crossings. Foot-and-mouth disease has not yet been confirmed in Czechia.
