Vondráček fine for Zeman hospital visit without respirator reduced

A fine imposed on a former speaker of the Czech lower house, Radek Vondráček, after he failed to wear the required respirator on a visit to President Miloš Zeman in hospital in October has been reduced, iRozhlas.cz reported. The news site said the fine imposed by the Ministry of Defence hygiene official had been revised from CZK 10,000 to CZK 8,000 after the ANO politician expressed regret for his actions. The president’s head of office and other associates present paid fines of CZK 10,000.

The meeting had been organised so Mr. Zeman could sign a decree setting a date for the first session of Parliament after elections in early October.
