Vladimír Dlouhý re-elected head of Czech Chamber of Commerce
Vladimír Dlouhý has been re-elected president of the Czech Chamber of Commerce for another three-year term, the Czech News Agency informed on Thursday. Mr Dlouhý, who is 66, was elected to the post six years ago.
He previously served as industry and trade minister under then prime minister Václav Klaus. After leaving high politics he served as advisor to Goldman Sachs in Central and Eastern Europe.
In June of 2012 Dlouhý announced his candidacy for the 2013 presidential election, but failed to collect enough signatures to enter the race. In order to qualify for the ballot, candidates must gather 50,000 signatures from citizens, or the win the support of twenty deputies or ten senators.
