A trio of prominent Czech musicians have been nominated for International Classical Music Awards (ICMA) – violinist Pavel Šporcl, conductor Jakub Hrůša and pianist Ivo Kahánek.

Šporcl was nominated in the solo instrument category for his album Paganiniana, featuring some of the most difficult compositions by the mid-19th century Italian violinist and composer Niccolò Paganini.

Hrůša, chief conductor of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, was nominated for recordings by Mahler and Burckner, and Kahánek for a set of works for the piano by Dvořák.

The ICMA finalists will be announced on December 14 and the awards announced on January 20. The ceremony and gala concert is set to take place at the Luxembourg Philharmonic on April 21.
