The Velká Pardubická steeplechase is one of the oldest sporting events in Europe, dating back to 1874. Among the toughest horse races of its kind on the continent, it was won at the weekend by the gelding Talent, ridden by Pavel Složil Jr. Pictured is the notorious Taxis ditch, the course’s most difficult jump.
