Vadlejch takes silver in javelin for three Czech medals in Munich

Jakub Vadlejch of Czechia took the silver medal in the men’s javelin at the European Athletics Championships in Munich on Sunday evening. He threw 87.28 metres in the final, 38 centimetres behind winner Julian Weber of Germany.

Vadlejch’s compatriot Vítězslav Veselý finished fourth.

Czechia took two other medals in Munich, following third-placed finishes from Tomáš Staněk in the shot put and Barbora Špotáková in the women’s javelin.
