USAID: conditions for Czech NGOs have not improved in recent years
The US Agency for International Development (USAID) ranked the Czech Republic third among post-communist countries in the sustainability of the civil society sector for 2020, the Czech News Agency reported on Thursday.
According to the annual report, which compares the situation in 24 former Eastern bloc countries, the conditions for Czech NGOs have not improved in recent years. It suggests that while they have expanded their services during the epidemic, their financial insecurity has grown.
The USAID report focuses on a number of issues, including legal environment, financial background of the NGOs, their organisation, implementation of interests, provision of services, infrastructure and public image.
