University library in Olomouc to be named after Milada Horáková

The Faculty of Law of Palacký University in Olomouc will name its newly built library after Milada Horáková, who was sentenced to death in a communist show trial and executed in June 1950.

The faculty got permission to do so from the politician’s daughter, Jana Kánská. The library should open to the public later this year.

Palacký University will also mark the anniversary of Milada Horáková’s death with a special video-mapping event on the building of the Faculty of Law, which used to be the seat of the regional committee of the Communist Party.
