Two women sentenced to 13 and 12 years for cult leader’s murder
The Prague City Court sentenced two women, a dentist and a senior citizen, to 13 and 12 years in prison for the murder of a self-proclaimed cult leader from Kutná Hora, ruling it a premeditated crime. The dentist was also banned from practicing healthcare for four years and must undergo psychiatric treatment.
Both women confessed, but their defense lawyers argued they were not mentally sound at the time, claiming the cult leader had transferred his delusions onto them. However, the court found that the man was not delusional but manipulative and calculating, exploiting others for money and personal care. Expert evaluations confirmed both women were legally sane when they committed the crime.
The victim, a 50-year-old man and the dentist’s partner, was killed in October 2022 at the senior woman’s Prague apartment. The women testified that the cult leader wanted to die and convinced them to carry out the killing. The dentist also claimed he had physically and psychologically abused her.
The verdict is not yet final.
