Two dozen investigated over abuse of EU subsidies in North Bohemia

Police in North Bohemia have launched an investigation into 24 people accused of misusing European subsidies. The corruption is alleged to have occurred in connection with a regional cohesion council. A number of those arrested have been questioned in Prague by the police’s national organised crime unit. Several people have already been found guilty of corruption in connection with the Ústí nad Labem-based agency, which got into financial difficulties in 2010.
