Two Czech tourists missing in Taiwan
Authorities are searching for two Czech tourists in the Taroko National Park in eastern Taiwan, who have been uncontactable by phone, amidst the arrival of the typhoon Kong-rey on the eastern coast of the island. The Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs is aware of the case, and Czech diplomats in the area are in contact with local authorities and the relatives of the missing Czechs, ministry spokesman Daniel Drake said to ČTK. According to authorities, the two tourists likely went on a hike to the Taroko Gorge in Hualien County, heading away from the coast and into the mountains.
